Welcome to St Monica’s Pre School
Established in January 2009, St Monica’s Pre-School is an ‘Outstanding’ independent pre-school for children aged 3 to 5 years.
We are located on the site of St Monica’s Catholic Primary School in Appleton, Warrington and are a term-time only setting, open from 8.45am to 3.15pm, Monday to Friday. We are registered to take up to 28 children per session.
Flexible arrangements are in place for parents requiring out of school care either before or after the pre-school day through WASP’s, an independent after school link club provider. For more information, please email email@example.com.
We treat all our children as individuals. By respecting that all children are unique and bring with them different experiences of family, friends and their surroundings we are able to fully understand and support them during their time with us.
We provide high quality teaching coupled with a holistic ethos of nurture and care. Our team of staff are well qualified and highly experienced and demonstrate an exceptional knowledge and understanding of how children learn and develop through play.
Our learning environment is both happy and stimulating with challenging activities led by the children’s interests to promote learning at every opportunity.
What makes us so special?
We acknowledge that parents are a child’s first educators, so we work closely with our families to build on their detailed knowledge of their child’s interests.
Home visits are just one of the ways in which we build strong links with every family. This helps us to better understand and support each unique child.
Every child in our setting is allocated a special person called a key worker.
Their role is to ensure that each child’s emotional and developmental needs are consistently being met.
Our key workers keep beautiful records of the children’s achievements, as well as monitoring their progress against the early years foundation stage framework via our online learning journal, Tapestry.
Qualified and dedicated staff
All our staff are highly qualified practitioners which we believe enhances the learning environment for our children. Our key workers have a minimum level 3 qualification.
We offer all staff continuous professional development opportunities to ensure we continually develop our provision and reflect on more effective ways of working with our young children and their families.
Our dedicated pre-school room offers children and their families a truly unique, early years experience.
Children attending our setting benefit from a thoughtfully designed environment carefully planned to meet their needs at every stage of their development.
We have exciting environments for the children to explore such as the Discovery Area, the Cosy Corner, the Writing Den, the Home Corner and Mud Kitchen.
Strong community links
We are proud of the family spirit that exists at our pre-school. Not only do we form close links with our parents and their extended families, but we also have very strong community connections with St Monica’s Catholic Primary School, St Monica’s Church and Brampton Lodge Care Home.
